The large geographic distance between suppliers and customers together with the special market conditions in East Asia
require careful setting-up of effective sales- and service networks in the region. Already during first sales talks Asian
customers often show their strong interest in the know-how of technologies from the West. That process of knowledge
transfer is difficult and lengthy due to huge cultural differences on both sides, however, it is just as important and
imperative as keeping close and personal relationship with the customer after the business deal.
